San Francisco Secures Over $200 Million in State Funding for Affordable Housing

San Francisco, CA — Today, Mayor London N. Breed announced San Francisco has been awarded more than $200 million in funding from the California Department of Housing and Community Development. This support was provided by the new California Housing Accelerator Fund, which was seeded with a $1.75 billion investment from the federal American Rescue Plan Act.

Board of Supervisors Unanimously Approves Stephanie Cajina to San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency Board of Directors

San Francisco, CA — The Board of Supervisors voted unanimously today to approve Stephanie Cajina to serve on the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) Board of Directors. Cajina, who was nominated by Mayor London Breed in December 2021, brings city planning experience and years advocating for underrepresented communities to the Board.

Mayor London Breed Announces Patrick O’riordan to Serve as Director of the Department of Building Inspection

San Francisco Extends Funding for Right to Recover Program to Support COVID-Positive Workers

Breed and Supervisor Hillary Ronen today announced that San Francisco will allocate an additional $5.4 million from the City’s General Fund to extend the Right to Recover Program through the end of June 2022 to meet the current surge in applications. The extended Program will continue the support of COVID-19 positive San Franciscans who are in need of financial assistance while self-isolating and recovering from the virus.

Mayor London Breed Announces Opening of Bayview Vehicle Triage Center

Breed and the Department of Homelessness and Supportive Housing (HSH) today announced the opening of the new Bayview Vehicle Triage Center (VTC) at the Candlestick Point State Recreation Area’s (SRA) Park Boat Launch Parking Lot. The new Center will provide a safe space to sleep and access to stabilizing services for people experiencing vehicular homelessness in close proximity to Candlestick Point SRA.
