Mayor Edwin M. Lee today issued the following statement:

“Fifteen years ago, first responders around the nation responded to the call for help. They did not fear for their own safety – they charged towards danger with the bravery and selflessness that defines every man and woman who swears to protect the public. Today, we honor our first responders as we remember the nearly 3,000 lives we lost in the attacks of September 11, 2001.
