Mayor Mark Farrell Encourages Warriors Fans to Wear Team Colors for Blue and Gold Day on Friday, April 13

Today, San Francisco Mayor Mark Farrell officially declared Friday, April 13 as “Blue and Gold Day” in honor of the Golden State Warriors’ sixth straight appearance in the NBA Playoffs.

Mayor Farrell is encouraging all fans throughout the Bay Area to wear blue and gold this Friday to cheer on the Warriors as they enter the 2018 NBA Playoffs. To show support for the Warriors, San Francisco will be lighting up City Hall, the San Francisco International Airport’s International Terminal and Coit Tower in team colors on Friday.

“San Francisco is Warriors’ ground and we are excited to cheer on the Dubs as they go for another NBA title,” said Mayor Farrell. “We are doing our part in San Francisco by asking everyone to wear Warriors’ colors for Blue and Gold Day on Friday. We will show our strength in numbers. Go Warriors!”

The Warriors are the defending NBA champions and will be looking to capture the team’s third title in the past four seasons. Additional details about the NBA Playoffs, including the Warriors schedule and first-round opponent, will be released later this week.
