Mayor Lee’s Statement on SFMTA Employee Conduct
Mayor Edwin M. Lee today issued the following statement regarding a San Francisco Municipal Transit Agency (SFMTA) employee’s conduct:
“San Francisco is City that celebrates and embraces diversity. It’s what makes our City strong. That’s why it’s so disturbing to hear of an incident where a Muni employee, in City uniform, engage in hateful speech directed at a member of the public. This ugly behavior will never be tolerated. I applaud the SFMTA for taking swift action after this video came to light and seeking termination for this individual. City employees must always represent the values of our City at all times. Our fellow City employees and the public deserve nothing less.”
