Mayor Lee’s Statement on San Francisco Giants World Series Victory
Mayor Edwin M. Lee today issued the following statement after the San Francisco Giants clinched the World Championship title after tonight’s World Series Game Seven against the Kansas City Royals in Kansas City:
“The San Francisco skyline is awash in Orange. I congratulate our World Champion San Francisco Giants after another spectacular World Series victory. For the third time in just five years, this world-class organization brought our City together as only our hometown heroes can.
San Francisco waits with giant anticipation for the return of our hometown team so we can celebrate as one City with a parade down Market Street to welcome them home.”
Mayor Lee announced tonight that San Francisco will host a parade and civic celebration in honor of the 2014 World Champion San Francisco Giants on Friday, October 31, 2014. The parade will begin at Market and Steuart Streets at 12 p.m. and continue down Market Street to Civic Center Plaza.
