Mayor Edwin Lee’s Statement on Passing of Jerry Lee
Mayor Edwin M. Lee today issued the following statement on the passing of San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) Board of Directors Member Jerry Lee:
“I am deeply saddened to learn of the sudden passing of San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency Board Director Jerry Lee. Jerry was committed to San Francisco and helped move our transportation agency forward during a time of growth and increased demands on the system. As a native San Franciscan, Jerry was a lifelong MUNI rider and had a deep understanding of San Francisco’s many modes of transportation and how to improve them. He was a community stalwart, committed to helping all residents, especially seniors, youth and our most vulnerable. Jerry shared my vision of creating and investing in a safe, reliable world-class transportation system. His generosity and kindness will be his legacy and his spirit will live on in our City.
His family and friends are in our thoughts and prayers as we mourn the loss of this true San Franciscan.”
Flags at City Hall are at half-mast today in honor of Board Director Lee.
