John Paul Scott, AIA, Deputy Director, Physical Access, joined theMayor's Office on Disability one year ago, transferring from the Portof San Francisco.  His primary role at MOD is refocusing andimplementing the City's ADA Transition Plan for buildings andfacilities. Additionally he develops access policy for design ofpublicly funded construction. 

A graduate of the University of California at Berkeley's andLawrence University's Architectural Schools.  Mr. Scott cut his chopsin the accessibility arena while working for Walt Disney Company astheir access-guru.  As a California, licensed architect, he served on alarge variety of US Access Board's, California Division of the StateArchitect's and other organization's boards and committees that focuson accessible design. 

As a member of the disability community since 1992, John is anadvocate of Universal Design and in educating design professionals onhow to pro-actively design for people with disabilities.
