Mayor Lee’s Statement on Governor Brown’s Proposed Balanced Budget for California
Mayor Edwin M. Lee today issued the following statement regarding Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr.’s proposed 2015-16 balanced budget for the State of California:
“I congratulate Governor Brown on his historic fourth term as Governor of the great State of California and for his latest budget proposal that balances long-term fiscal prudence with the need to pay down debt and invest in the success of our State. Today, with an improving economy, the Governor’s balanced budget invests billions of dollars more into education, health care, affordable housing, infrastructure, combatting climate change and sets up our State’s residents for success. I remain confident that California is headed in the right direction and that these investments will allow all of our residents to share in the success of our State.”
