Mayor Mark Farrell on the Passing of Longtime Homelessness Advocate Brian Quinn

For more than two decades, Brian served as a selfless ambassador, confidant and advocate for residents experiencing homelessness in San Francisco. In both the public and private sector, Brian worked with compassion and empathy to improve the lives of individuals most in need of care.

In his most recent work with the Department of Homelessness and Supportive Housing, Brian helped oversee the expansion of our Navigation Centers, providing more than 2,000 individuals with the resources and support they needed to move off the streets and into stable living situations.

Today, I had the good fortune of speaking with Brian’s sister and learning more about his career in service and his dedication to the people of San Francisco. We were fortunate to have such a talented and committed individual working for the City, and I am honored that a plaque commemorating Brian’s life will be placed at the new Navigation Center site at Division Circle. Brian will be missed, but his memory will live on through that fitting tribute.
