Mayor Lee’s Statement on 2012 Clean & Safe Neighborhood Parks Bond Approval for November Ballot
Mayor Edwin M. Lee today issued the following statement on the Board of Supervisors’ final unanimous approval to place the 2012 Clean and Safe Neighborhood Parks Bond on the 2012 November ballot, which if approved by San Francisco voters, will renovate neighborhood parks and provide infrastructure improvements throughout San Francisco’s park system:
“In November, San Francisco voters will have an opportunity to continue the very necessary investments we are making in our large and diverse park system.
The $195 million Parks Bond will focus on renovating and improving parks and open spaces to respond to the needs of the City’s children, youth and families who use them. The Bond includes funding for neighborhood parks, long awaited capital investment in Golden Gate Park, McLaren Park and Lake Merced and renovations to recreation centers, playgrounds and pools. The bond will maintain and improve our parks and recreation facilities so that we can continue to provide the highest quality of parks, recreational programming and services to all San Franciscans.”
