Mayor Edwin M. Lee today issued the following statement on Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) labor and management reaching a tentative agreement:

“I am grateful and relieved that BART union and management leaders have finally reached a tentative agreement that ends this devastating transit strike that has negatively impacted hundreds of thousands of Bay Area working families and our regional economy. I thank the nearly 400,000 daily BART commuters for their patience during these very difficult times.

I would also like to thank and applaud the federal mediators for their work in helping to reach this tentative agreement that helps the hundreds of thousands of people who rely on BART every day to get to their jobs, attend classes and travel throughout our Bay Area.”
