Tessie was a longtime community leader who worked tirelessly as an advocate on housing, environmental and economic justice issues for the residents of Bayview Hunters Point. Her relentless passion was instrumental in the founding of numerous organizations and institutions, including the HOPE SF program that helped transform Hunters View.

She was a beloved member of the Bayview Hunters Points community, and everyone who knew her affectionately referred to her as “Momma Tessie.” A kind and generous person, I always enjoyed working alongside her on the critical issues facing the community.

Her friends and family are in our thoughts as we mourn her passing and celebrate her incredible legacy.
