Mayor Lee’s Statement on Controller’s 2015 City Survey

Mayor Edwin M. Lee today issued the following statement on the Controller’s biennial 2015 City Survey, measuring opinions and perceptions about public services experienced every day from streets, parks and Muni to libraries, sidewalks and schools:

“The Controller’s City Survey Report shows that our City’s investments are helping to improve the lives of our residents. Residents reported being more satisfied by the level of City services provided to them. Also more residents are reporting favorable ratings than in 2013 when the last survey was conducted in areas like public safety, parks, libraries, education and transportation.

City government has an obligation to make the lives of all of its residents better, and we are using this unique time of prosperity to ensure all San Franciscans benefit with increased City services. Just last week, I signed a fiscally-responsible, two-year balanced budget that makes historic investments in housing, transportation, education and public safety that at the same time supports our continuing economic recovery and protects social safety net services for residents most in need.

We won’t be satisfied because we know we can do more for our residents. With smart, strategic investments, we will continue to create jobs, grow a thriving economy and increase City services, while keeping San Francisco safe and affordable. This is what residents want, and we want to make sure that City government is efficient and responsive to our residents’ needs.”
